Fast Cars and Cool Accents

Ever since I was old enough to watch movies and appreciate basic concepts like fast cars, hamburgers and cool accents, America has had me in a wrestlers headlock and refused to let go.

Two trips between the ages of 17 and 21 to Orlando, Florida with my family were great tasters for what the country had to offer, but New York was always where I wanted to go.

Since the first time I emerged from the subway on the corner of 10th Avenue and 14th Street in September 1999 I have been enthralled with the constant live movie that is New York City. Over 10 trips between 1999 and 2009 I took many many photographs.

The wonderful photographer Jay Maisel called New York a feast for the eyes, and I couldn't agree more (or think of anything better), and so that's what I call this collection of photographs.
